Alllllrighty then folks, thats it for now. Thanks for checking in and have a wonderful holiday!
I'm not getting much skating in these days with a broken ankle, but I still got some other stuff done in the meantime. I received some skate clips from a marginal session from a buddy of mine that I turned into a little fun edit, made some art, and produced another track. Before I share all that, I made this:
That's right! 25 Percent off of everything! Go to https://www.etsy.com/shop/SinglerShop to see what I have left. I got the idea from a buddy of mine who also has an etsy shop. He makes spoon art. Check it out here: https://www.etsy.com/shop/ZiSpoons.
I managed to make some art this last month as well. One's just a random idea I had, and the other is a going away present for my girlfriend's best friend who was staying with us for a few months.
If there's anyone reading this that wants some custom art done, just hit me up in theContact Section.
Here's that edit I was talkin about. Super fun times. This was filmed by Landin Williams. He's got a sick ass production company called The Machete Group. He met me at marginal way and filmed me foolin' around, took the footage and then made this little insta-clip.
So I took all of the raw footage and made a longer edit for my YouTube Channel. Hopefully my ankle will be well enough to skate again soon so I can make more of these.
Made some tunes too. Checkadeecheck it. I got some more on the way and am also working on a live instrumental video project that will hopefully turn out super dope. More details coming soon.
Alllllrighty then folks, thats it for now. Thanks for checking in and have a wonderful holiday!
It's been a loooong four months since I've updated this thang, so I figured I would redo my whole website. I also took a trip to the east coast, went to Sweden, drove out to Spokane, was featured in 6 new videos, a bunch of photos, made 3 new art pieces, and composed a couple of new songs.
My shop sponsor, SNOCON, went out of business. They helped me pay for airfare to take a skate trip to the east coast, and went under about 2 months later. I gave them half of the photos that me and my buddy Eddie Think snapped on the east coast that they never used, so I thought I should unload 'em here:
For more details about this amazing trip, just scroll down to my last post.
I took a bunch of the footage we captured on the east coast and made my first full skate part! Check it out. We got footage from all over the place :)
Just shortly after that, there was a super rad contest at the Ballard Bowl. Little rippers Griffin Chase and Payton Moriarity were KILLLLLLLIN it. 7 foot airs outta the deep end n shit! I didn't do too well in this one, but I got a good flick of a smith around the corner :)
Around this time, my buddy Austin and me were stackin some funky clips around the city. He took all of the footy and made this short little video for Casual Industrees.
There was a few rad jams at Marginal in the past months. As usual, hella people showed up and we all had a blast. We got some photos and some clips to remember it by.
Some time in between all of this, me n my buddy Sean filmed a little Marginal clip full of dorky shit.
THEN I WENT TO SWEEDEN!!! It was fucking fantastic. My girlfriend Kim and I traveled all around the country visiting her family. I also got into the Bowlriders contest in Malmo! Shit was nuts. I didn't make it to finals, but the skaters that did were BUUUUCK. Soooo good! I made sure to take hella photos.
When we got back, there was another awesome marginal contest, LORDS OF SEATOWN 2.
Check out more photos here: http://juicemagazine.com/home/lords-of-seatown-2/
Not only is my ankle super sprained, but apparently I have a fractured fibula. It doesn't hurt too bad, but it's lookin like I definitely wont be skating for the next month or so :(
On the brighter side, I'll be able to do more of this:
Amongst all of this skateboarding, I managed to make some more art. Check it.
And last but not least:
That's all folks! Thanks for tuning in. Much more on the way....
#Morenewvidsflicksandstuffs. Just got back from a rad trip on the other side of the country! Went from Seattle > NYC > Baltimore > DC > VA Beach > Atlanta > Jacksonville > Philly > NYC > Boston > Seattle. So fun. I was gone for 12 days, got 41 usable photos, and flimed hellllla clips thanks to the one and only Eddie Think.
I met Eddie in his home town of Amsterdam on a skate trip about 2 or so years ago and have always stayed in touch. A few months ago, he hit me up sayin that there were 2 seats left on a skate trip from NYC to FL that he was goin on in May and offered me a seat. Of course I said hell yea and bought my plane ticket as soon as I could, thanks to Casual Industrees and SnoCon. About a week before the trip, everyone but me and Eddie bailed, so me and him went down together and got uber-productive.
Eddie took lots of rad skate flicks that I wish I could share, but I cant because they belong to SnoCon and Casual. They'll make there way online soon enough. Some photos got leaked tho, plus I always got me instagrams...
We filmed a lot too. Rad videos coming soon....
CINCO DE FUCKIN MARGO!!!
I look forward to this event every year. All you can eat tacos and beer for 20 bucks, live music, and one of the raddest sessions I've ever experienced. Adrien Way snapped some rad photos of the event and posted them here:
http://DontSleepInk.Blogspot.com. Check em out!
So that was fun. About a week before that, this dude named Quentyn Deady happened to be shootin flicks at margy when I was there so we shot these. All those benes were 3fliped into :)
Last and not least, I'm currently working on a project with my buddy Landin who has a RED camera. Shits about to look real cool. We met up at seaskate one day and filmed this gem earlier in May...
Alllllllllllllllllrighty then thats about it for now. Thanks for tuning in!
Been a whiiiiiiiile since I updated this thing, so i figure its about time. Since my last post, I've had an art show (on display for one more week), made 5 skate videos, finished 8 new art pieces, produced another song, and a whole bunch of other rad stuff in these last couple of months.
So uhhhhhh yea lets get started...
These dudes are actually second-version pieces of previous works that I've sold. Some nice person liked them so much that she wanted me to do them over so that she could have them. I happily obliged.
This one is for me and my honey. We just had our one year anniversary so I dotted her this. (She's the giraffe).
This one was part of a "Hobo Series" that I originally made in photoshop for Nomadic. That's me in the boat going down the canals of Amsterdam. They were gonna print the digital one on the bottom of a deck but never got around to it.
This is the current board that I'm riding.
Yes, this is an eagle. Yes that is Mt. Rainer. You can actually see me skating these boards in the videos below. The eagles head board is featured pretty well in the Renton Edit.
This is a Blue Grouse. I made this one for the local bar near my house, called the Blu Grouse. They have always been really really awesome so I felt like I should make this in appreciation of their radness.
Aaaaaand this one is for the best pizza spot in White Center.
This place is awesome!!! My work is still up there, and will be for only ONE MORRRREEEE WEEEEKKK!!!!! So go get some pizza and peep it.
When I got there, I had no idea that I had so much work! It really surprised me when I laid it all out like this.
Alllllll righty then thats about it for art. Let's move on to what I love most.
These are still frames of a super fun night at Renton Skatepark. IT WAS SOOOOO COLD.
A couple of weeks later, a Mukilteo kid named Jack filmed some fun on the Muk miniramp and took a few photos. Check it out! You can click the photo to make it bigger.
A few days later, I was going through some unused footage that I had on my computer, and I saw that I aaalllllmooost have enough footage to make a full part!!! So I made a preview with it. Chickadee checkskis.
A few weekends ago, I was skating with my buddy Justin at Beacon. He has a gopro so we filmed some stuffs. Heres one of the still frames that I thought looked rad because of the sun between my foot and my board.
I took all the footy Justin sent me and made a promo for casual. It goes like this....
Earlier this week I found a hard drive that was FULL of old Nomadic footy as well as some gems that never got used for anything.
So that's it for skating in the last couple of months. If your still reading this far, thank you so much for stickin around. Only one more thing to go! And, of course that would be...
Been a while since I out a track, but I was home and had some free time so I made this:
Ok thats all. Thanks for tuning in! I'll be back with more very soon :)
Just a few thangs this time around. Got a toad with a lorgnette, a new edit of some old entertaining dorky footage to some funky jams, plus some stencil work I did a while back...
Aaaaannnnd heres the clip...
Aaaaaaannnnddd heres some photos of some stencil work that I did a while back that I just found this morning...
Aaaaaannnnnndddd thats about it.
Thanks for stopping by!
Until next time....
Just a few more art thangs, some skate photos, and a couple instavids from an amazing trip to Sweden.
This is a christmas present that I made for a friend named Robin, the Star-Wars-loving brother of my wonderful girlfriend Kim. I got to meet their whole family over the holidays and had a whole lot of fun. Everyone I met was super rad and welcoming. I had such a great time. Within the first 10 minutes that I met Kim's sister Wiveca, she had showed a HUGE fondness for Despicable Me's "Minions", so I made her this:
It was such a incredible trip! I got to see some reeeeally cool stuff like...
This is where the KING OF SWEDEN lives. Whoa.
They also have so many skateparks, we had trouble deciding which ones to go to. We ended up only having time to go to one, but man it sure was fun! It was under a bridge just like my favorite skatepark, Marginal Way.
We even iPhone filmed a bit.
SO FUN. I feel so fortunate to be able to spend the holidays on the other side of the planet, and that I got to experience so much while I was over there. If you want to see more photos from the trip, check out my Instafeed at:
In older news, before I left for Sweden I made this:
It's the second piece of the "Intelligent Animals" series. The first one was the octopus in the last blog post.
About a month ago, a friend of mine named Justin Carney came to the Mukilteo YMCA skatepark and had his gopro with him. We had a lot of fun buddy-filming for a bit before he had to leave, and just a few days ago he sent me some of the clips. I brought them into Premiere, found a cool song, and made this:
'twas a grand ol time. See the griptape under my feet? Check it out:
This'll be rad once I skate and dot the other two pieces to make this complete.
I also received some more photos from the session that I had at Judkins skatepark, in Seattle. These were taken by Daniel Hager, who operates under the name 36 Frames Photography when it comes to these things...
Check out the video of all this filmed by Bryan Busalacchi.
Alright y'all that's about it for now. Thank's for checkin in, and have a wonderful new year!!!!
I was flippin through one of my old sketchbooks and found something similar to this, so a few nights ago I dotted it.
I also got a handful of new photos and videos to share too. This one was from an evening at Judkins skatepark. We got there pretty late, but still managed to stack a few clips before the sun went down.
About a week later, me and my buddies Ben and Sawyer went to Beacon hill skatepark around 10pm. It was about 10:25 when I asked Sawyer if he wanted to film some bullshit on the spine, he said yes. So we stacked this:
That was super fun.
I recently grabbed my part from the 2013 Element Skate Camp Staff Video and threw it up on my youtube channel. Ew that sounded gross. Anyways, this is what I was up to this summer:
I also found these photos while collecting footy last week. Turns out I have a lot more skate footage than I thought. Get ready for a Singler Super Edit coming soon...
These were actually takin about a year ago or so when my buddy made a documentary about me for his film class:
Welp, that's about it for now. Thanks for stoppin by and stay tuned for more music, art, and skateboarding coming soon....
It's been about four months since I updated this thing so I figured it was about time. Here's some art and stuff that I've done since June.
That last one is actually a concrete coffee cup. I've been filmin a fair amount for this video that I'm tryna put out too. Just a few more bangers and it'll be done. Since June, Ive been stackin photos too. Here's most of em...
I also got a couple photos in ISSUE TWO OF WICKED WORLD THAT JUST CAME OUT!!!! I'm so hyped on this northwest skate mag and am uber honored to make it on a couple pages. That's Nolan on the cover. Holy Crap right?
Alright y'all that's about it. Thanks for stopping by!
Today's the day! I'm leaving Seattle for a few months to teach skateboarding at the Element YMCA Skatecamp just outside of Fresno, CA. I've been looking forward to this for a loooong time. I dont really know what to expect, but I know I'm gonna have a blast. This place is got 4 skateparks in the wilderness next to a lake surrounded by trees taller than anything in West Seattle. Shitllbedope. I'm HYPED.
Just look at that half pipe. They also got a mini mega ramp, 2 street courses, a bowl, and another more tranny-friendly park. At least, that's what they had last time I was there...
I'll make sure to take lots of photos. Speakinaphotos, here's one that I took of the last Boards I Dotted.
Aight I'm out. I gotta pack. Thanks for checkin in. Stay tuned. Much much more coming soon....
This time around I got a few more pieces of art as well as a new clip from the Muk made by Jake Menne. Peep game.
This is a temple in Cambodia called Ankor Wat that I made for my coworker Savin. Definitely one of the most time consuming pieces that I've ever made.
This ones for an awesome little dude that was in the camps that I helped teach in Mukilteo named Logan. He shreds. One down, two to go!
In other news, two Saturdays ago I placed 2nd at the Zumiez Best Foot Forward contest at the supermall. So stoked! Especially since I didn't even make finals last year. Also in the skate realm, I got together with my buddy Daniel the other day and shot a boneless 360 tucknee into a hill bomb near ballard. It looked like this.
And lastly, here's the Muk clip that Jake and I have been working on.
Thanks for stopping by!!! More to come very soon...
